PHASE ONE: BRAND FOUNDATIONS

  1. If you haven’t already - now is the time to get your brand foundations locked in. First you will need a blueprint of who your brand serves & what its offers are - if you need some help with this - iv’e got a great template you can grab for free here.

PHASE 2: PREP

  1. What is going to build your website? Are you a DIY baddie on a budget? Or, do you seriously need some professional help? Another option - Will you find/buy a template & then customize it? You’ve got a lot of options - so take the first step and pick one.

  1. Who is writing your website content? Again - do you feel confident that you can and want to do this yourself? Or do you need some help from a pro? You could be “mid” as the kids say (which I just don’t get) and take a course that teaches you how to write your website copy (this is the route I initially took).

Keep in mind - if you are planning to work with a web designer check their packages & be sure to ask if they include copy & content templates / consulting - my web design packages do btw :). Your web designer may also have pre existing contacts and relationships with copy writers that you could work with 1:1.

I highly highly reccomend that regardless of your choice on option #1 - you find some kind of a website copy template to work from if you are writing your own copy.

  1. Where are you building your site - aka. what platform? Typically if you are working with a designer they will have a limited amount of platforms that they work on which will help narrow the field. For example - I work solely on Square Space or Showit.

  1. If you haven’t already - go buy your URL!

PHASE 3: CREATIVE

By now you should have a good idea of what your brand is all about, and how you are going to facilitate your website build. Now it’s time to nail down the creative.
